The material of this product can be chosen as brass, nickel plated or as plastic, Polyamide 6. The main advantage presented with this product is the combination of cable gland and pressure balance element. Heat generated by electrical and electronic components in an eclosure, as well as fluctuating outside temperature creates a pressure difference. A semi-permeable membrane inside the gland allows air and hunidity to leave the enclosure while rejecting dirt and water to ingress. Properties of the membrane stay the same independent of cable diameter and torque. These polyamide cable glands have higher strain and torsion relief at lower cap nut tightening torque compared with same size standard cable gland.
